Honestly, I can’t think of a reason the daughter is there except for a death that gives them a reason to be outside in the sunset for the exposition. We don’t have any attachment to her beyond her being a little girl and innocent. It was just kind of there. Also, what are the chances that werewolf at the end either is the old man or is something that only the old man knows how to kill?
