Once upon a time I came up with a lovely little crackfic of an idea and it has sprung back into my head and demands I write it before I can write anything else. Since it makes me question my sanity that I would even think this up, I thought I’d share.

Once upon a time, the jails were full. There were plenty of prisoners in there with life sentences and no one to check and make sure they were being treated even remotely humanely, so they were used for various experiments. These experiments were wide in type and range, though the human genetics testing and the ones involving greatly altering their personalities to something that would be sweet and kind, forcing a reform in the criminals, was probably the most interesting.

There was one particular prisoner that had the unfortunate luck of being subject to both genetic experiments and the psychological serum tests as well. Something started to go very wrong with him and he was quarantined. He became friendly and almost childlike when he was awake and bothered to speak at all and his skin was turning pink. Several more prisoners were showing similar symptoms, skin changing colours and becoming sickeningly sweet in personality. They were kept penned in a separate area and the scientists watched.

It their transformation didn’t end with changing colour. The prisoners went through a sickening transformation, their skeletal structures altering as their genetics were rewritten. Many of the male prisoners became female. All of them became horses, but retained their ability to talk. The only way that the scientists could tell who they were before was by the tattoos that they now had on their hindquarters.

They released them into a small forest near their labs so that they could continue to keep an eye on them, filming their interactions and not interfering with their new species as they established their new lives full of friendship speeches and having wacky adventures without any memory of their previous lives.

And thus, My Little Pony was created.
