When they moved to the city, it was mostly so Bree could pursue her dreams to become a doctor and not have to pay extra for dorms. Unfortunately, after one day she realizes that her dreams can never be. Her dreams shattered, she is lost and doesn't know what to do next.

She stumbles into being a hero quite by accident. With Auntie Cici training her, she delves deep into what the world of heroes is like and what that entails. Meanwhile, she gets a job and tries to decide what she's going to do with the rest of her life now that her dream is gone.

Bree - Our main character, the girl with horrible hero powers.
Auntie Cici - Bree's legal guardian and a woman who leads quite the double life.
Mayday - The main superhero team in the city.

It's a world of heroes in the sky and on the ground. With so many people with powers around in the city, there are an abundance of young heroes and no crime goes without someone looking into it. As such, there have been strict laws put in place about who can deal with which crimes and a payment system implemented to deter meddling in matters that the vigilantes have no experience in.

I'd like it to be set in an alternate reality Vancouver, but I need to get to know Vancouver better for that to happen.

I read a lot of Invincible and got an idea for a lampshade hanging universe. It also started out originally as a webcomic called "Beat" that focused on Jourdie and then abandoned because she really wasn't in any position to be a main character.

Bree isn't really either, mind you, but her story is a lot more interesting than Jourdie's.

It takes place over four years and has a definite ending. Still, four years in comic time is a while. And on top of that, there are a lot of history minis and a Mayday tie in.
