I'm an increasingly busy erson finishing up my degree and trying to find my way into the new media feild. As such, I try to update though I will put my personal life first and my personal life is often hectic. I'm currently trying to balance a job hunt and the switch from part time retail jobs into a full career among finishing off my degree and trying to find time for life in general.
Aside from that, I love stories. Fiction of many types and forms grab me and I like writing, reading, watching and experiencing them in their many forms. And I still quite frequently watch cartoons at my age. It's a love, it's a passion and something I highly doubt I will ever grow out of. And dammit, it's still fiction!
SCHOOL
Name: Simon Fraser University: Surrey
Major: Interactive Arts and Technology
Stream: New Media
Thanks to school, I have developed an interest in various forms of media related to fiction. I know little things like HCI and usability too, but I was more interested in some of the stuff I learned at the end of my degree pertaining to transmedia and media appropriatenss of content. Unfortunately, the learning of these things in particular didn't have any real classes, so it's an ongoing learning process.
WRITING
Published: Nothing yet.
Part of the reason for the site is for me to give my writing a little bit of an audience. I like to think I have something to say and it's nice to have a plaatform for it, even if that platform is a little site in the middle of nowhere. I primarily write fiction, but I do dabble occasionally in the nonfiction realms as well. I want to try out everything just for fun, seeing as writing is more a hobby than an eventual career path.
WEB
Languages: HTML, PHP, MySQL, CSS, SSI and a little Actionscript
No, I don't know any "real" programming. I just know how to make things on the internet. The ohter reason for this site is so that I can experiment with code and try to find ways to adapt various things to my liking. For instance, I have managed to rip this site unceremoniously from Wordpress and it has all been coded by me. Except the spam filter. That's akismet. I'm also planning on building more sections and hope to learn AJAX so that I can make the site look pretty and fuction all Web 2.0-ish.
