I actually read Tarot for a while (I’m female btw) just for the fun of it. You should totally take a look at one of the early issues. There for some reason they couldn’t show nipples and as a result go through the most hilarious things to just barely cover them by convient item placement. I thought the books were actually bordering on cute and funny back then. It really got a lot less readable to me once they started showing full on boobs. And the issues you reviewed was actually my least favorite one (I stopped reading around that time), not because of the spiders but for the weird cat sex scene.
In the very first arc (that still have covered boobs), weirdly (or maybe not so weirdly since I guess the writer is a man) the boyfriend was probably my favorite character. He actually has kind of an arc with his backstory while Tarot struck me as pretty balnd and Mary Sue-ish.
Honestly, if you tell me you’re a Tarot reader, I’ll probably assume you’re female. My local shop and my own retail experiences have told met that most of the readers of Tarot are female.
I’ve been told that the earlier issues aren’t that bad, but I think I’ll give them a pass. While the comic was more fun that I made it out to be, it strikes me as something I’d enjoy for the wrong reasons. Maybe if a book falls into my lap I’ll check it out, but I’m not planning on it any time soon.
